My aim is to understand how phenotypic variation is generated and how it influences the course of evolution. To answer these questions I am employing a variety of approaches from developmental biology, genetics, comparative analysis, computational biology and mathematical modelling. As an experimental system I use the nematode worm Caenorhabditis elegans and other closely related species.
